Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel are very common business analyst tools used by business analysts for both documenting and presenting requirements. Word is used heavily for writing Business Requirements Document. PowerPoint is used a lot for presentations while Excel is heavily used for calculations and representing tabular data.
2. Agile Process tools
Jira, DevOps or Target Process are popular tools for managing user stories and the agile process. These business analyst tools help the entire team have visibility in the work that is being done and what’s left to do.
3. Diagraming tools
Business analysts also use several diagramming tools to map processes and come up with flowcharts. These include Visio, Lucidchart, Draw.io among others.
4. Mockup Tools
Business analysts often work with UX designers to come up with mockups. Some of the mockup tools include: Figma, Zeplin and Balsamiq.
5. Workshop tools
One if the hottest tools on the market for facilitating a workshop or group session virtually is Miro. Business Analysts use Miro a lot to draw on whiteboards, video conference and capture sticky notes among other cool features.
